Alexa Grasso is coming back to Mexico.
The prospect will be taking on former UFC and Invicta FC champ Carla Esparza at UFC Mexico City on Sept. 21 at the Mexico City Arena. The news was first reported by Milenio, and later announced by the UFC.
Grasso is coming off an impressive win over Karolina Kowalkiewicz at UFC 238 in June, bouncing back from a submission loss to Tatiana Suarez from 2018. The Guadalajara native is 11-2 in her professional MMA career, and 3-2 in the UFC. Grasso trains out of Team Lobo.
Meanwhile, Esparza outpointed Virna Jandiroba in her last outing back in April. Prior to that, Esparza was on a two-fight skid with losses to Claudia Gadelha and Suarez. The 31-year-old strawweight is 14–6 in her fighting career.
A main event for the card has yet to be announced by the promotion.
