Arlington Heights residents were able to take a trip around the world Saturday afternoon, and all they had to do was go to their local library.

The Arlington Heights Memorial Library was host to a Multicultural Fair.

Mudra Dance Academy performers kicked off the afternoon with their mix of traditional Indian and Bollywood dances. Later, the Arlington Heights School of Martial Arts gave a tai chi demonstration, followed by traditional Polish dancing from Whispers Center For Artistic Expression.

Display tables showcased 10 different countries. Patrons could go from station to station to for a “passport” stamp, then get prizes like bookmarks and erasers.

Along the way, attendees noshed on light treats, like Japanese rice snacks, British shortbread and Indian hard candy.
