While there is no mainstream event happening on Saturday night, it’s a good chance for British boxing fans to check out some up-and-coming talent.

The Emirates Arena in Glasgow plays hosts to an entertaining card which will see a host of fighters put their credentials to the test in a chance to impress.

Lee McGregor defends his Commonwealth bantamweight title against Scott Allan, headlining another MTK Global show.

The challenger is just 22 years old, comes from Edinburgh, and has held the belt since his impressive KO of Thomas Essomba in London back in October.

The Scots have been at each other’s throats during a war of words this week in the build up which makes for an interesting contest.

McGregor is a southpaw who is currently 15-0 but this is being tipped as the toughest hurdle yet of his professional career.

Elsewhere, Sergio Garcia is also in action making his first return to the ring since he stunned Ted Cheeseman in February.

The Londoner was also in action last night, drawing at York Hall with Kieron Conway as part of the NXTGEN show.

European champion Garcia takes on Siarhei Rabchanka in Spain, if he can secure his 30th professional win, he’ll be in line for a world title shot.
