Arjan “Singh” Bhullar, 33 of India was one of the winners at “ONE: Century 世紀” in Tokyo, Japan. It was the Indian-Canadian mixed martial artist’s first victory in ONE Championship.
“ONE: Century 世紀” was the second ONE Championship event held in Japan and marked the martial arts organization’s 100th live event. The combat sports event had two parts with 11 bouts each.
Featuring mixed martial arts, Muay Thai and kickboxing matches, “ONE: Century 世紀” took place at the Ryogoku Kokugikan in Tokyo on October 12, 2019. In the sixth bout of the second part, Bhullar fought Mauro “The Hammer” Cerilli, 36, of Italy in an MMA bout in the heavyweight division.
Olivier Coste served as the referee. After three five-minute rounds, the heavyweight contest was left in the hands of the judges.
In the end, Umeki raised the hand of Bhullar, who was declared the winner via unanimous decision. It also marked the ONE Championship debut of the Indian-Canadian MMA fighter.
Including Italy and India, 18 countries were represented in the two parts of “ONE: Century 世紀.” The others were Algeria, Belarus, Brazil, China, France, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey and the United States.
Cerilli was one of the two fighters who represented Italy. Bhullar solely represented India.
