- CM Punk returned to the WWE wings via WWE Backstage on FS1
- Paul lost his boxing debut to KSI via split decision
- CM Punk fought twice in the UFC but lost both of them
Logan Paul’s shot at facing CM Punk isn’t going to happen.
The former WWE superstar responded to the challenged laid out by the YouTube personality turned boxer when asked by TMZ Sports in an interview while the wrestling star is having a walk along the streets of Los Angeles.
Punk’s answer didn’t take one second to get when asked if a fight with the 24-year old vlogger interests him – “No.” Raised about the possibility of getting a good amount just in making the potential MMA fight happen despite the advantage that he has over the younger Paul, the 41-year old wrestler didn’t change his tune.
“My definition of big money and everybody else’s definition of big money is completely different,” said the WWE star turned MMA fighter.
In November last year, Paul lost to a split decision to KSI in a six three-minute round boxing match and was interviewed about the possibility of fighting the former WWE champion. “I think I would destroy CM Punk if I’m being honest. I don’t know if anyone would disagree with that,” said Paul.
Paul ignored the advantage that Punk has against him should the fight happens, saying that he’s lost both of them. Punk lost to Mickey Gall via submission in 2016 and then lost to Mark Jackson due to strikes two years after.
Asked if he thinks he can beat the odds, Paul didn’t flinch. “No, not think. I know I could.”
Punk made his return to WWE but as a part of WWE Backstage, a promotion’s programming and not in an in-ring competition. Asked if a return to wrestling or MMA in the future, Punk replied with a very company-guy response. “I work for FOX,” said Punk of the network that holds the broadcast rights of the program at FS1.
Punk is a three-time World Heavyweight Champion, two-time WWE Champion, and held the ECW title among all his in-ring accomplishments with the company.
