There are still some boxing fans who want to see if Floyd Mayweather Jr. will at some point consider facing Manny Pacquiao in a rematch. Based on reports right now, it appears the retired American boxer has no intention of doing so. However, Money has been known to be unpredictable — meaning he could change his mind in a snap.

Mayweather is enjoying retirement and has devoted his time to various business undertakings. The last time he took the ring was last New Year’s Eve where he made short work of Japanese kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa in a boxing match. It wasn’t much of a fight with the 42-year-old future Hall of Famer hardly working up a sweat. But most know that Mayweather agreed to the fight mainly because he would be earning a big payday.

It appears that money could sway Mayweather into facing Pacquiao once again. The Filipino boxing icon wants a rematch and his camp made this clear after the boxer-senator won over Keith Thurman recently. Mayweather was on hand to witness that fight and his presence somehow raised speculation. But when the smoke cleared, Mayweather and company reiterated that it will not happen. Mayweather even posted on his Instagram account that the fight will never happen.

However, a recent report from TMZ Sports may have tilted the tide a bit. Floyd Mayweather Sr. claimed that he is pretty sure that his son will be down for a rematch against the eight-time division champion and that Floyd Jr. will beat him again.

“If Pacquiao says he wants to fight, I’m pretty sure they’re gonna fight again,” said Floyd Mayweather Sr.

This is not the first time that Floyd Sr. has come out to reveal something about his son. His past claims have gone for naught and now it will be interesting if this Mayweather vs. Pacquiao rematch will happen.

Pacquiao’s camp has its eyes on Mayweather despite the odds. A rematch with Thurman is off the shelf and there are other names that the Filipino boxing icon could face next. Among the names suggested include Danny Garcia and Mikey Garcia. Errol Spence Jr. has also indicated he wanted to face Pacquiao if he comes out victorious against Shawn Porter next month.
