POULSBO – A mixed martial arts fighter who participated in an event at the Suquamish Clearwater Casino on Saturday was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle because of his injuries from the event, according to police.
Poulsbo Police Chief Dan Schoonmaker said the man was found “semi-conscious” Monday in his room at the Poulsbo Inn by a housekeeper. The man’s injuries were sustained in the MMA fight he was in on Saturday at the casino and weren’t considered suspicious, Schoonmaker said.
Poulsbo Fire Department crews examined the man and determined he needed to be airlifted, and the man was flown to Harborview shortly after 12 p.m. on Monday, department spokeswoman Jody Matson said. Harborview listed the man’s condition Tuesday afternoon as “stable,” she said.
