One Pride Pro Never Quit will return to Jakarta this Saturday with its featherweight title on the line once again.

“Battle of the Pride” will take place at Mahaka Square Kelapa Gading in North Jakarta, the second major MMA event in the Indonesian capital this weekend after ONE Championship later this evening.

In the main event, Pitbull Academy fighter Hafid Nur Maradi (10-2) returns to defend his featherweight title after stopping Novian Hartanto last August.

Following a flawless performance, Nur Maradi returns to the One Pride arena after just two months for this third title defense. “The Avatar” will face “The Raging Bull” Aep Saepudin (4-4) whom he had faced in 2016.

“I may have won against Aep in the past, but I never underestimate my opponent heading into a fight,” Nur Maradi said.

“I watched his fights and clearly he has improved on each fight. I’m sure this will be a very tough fight.”

Aep Saepudin earned his title shot by defeating Jordan Hilapok in a three round back-and-forth fight at Fight Night 29. Aware of his opponent’s grappling prowess, the Purwakarta, West Java native took regular trips to Bandung to prepare for the fight.

Seeking revenue: Aep Saepudin says he has nothing to lose.

“For me, the fight against Hafid is the biggest challenge of my career. He is the defending champion and I’ve lost against him in the past. But then again, I have nothing to lose on this fight and I will give my best,” said Saepudin.

Celebrity sluggers

In the co-main event, television stars Randy Pangalila will face Adhi Pawitra on Celebrity Fight.

Pangalila returns to One Pride Arena after more than a year. Pangalila was victorious in his debut fight with a 39 second KO against Fajar Ibel.

Pangalila’s opponent Adhi Pawitra last fought against Volland Humonggio to a draw in a back-and-forth scuffle.

In the lightweight division, Hatoropan Simbolon will face Victor Keitimu. Simbolon recently suffered back-to-back losses after stepping in against last minute replacement against Hendrik Tarigan and lightweight champion Jeka Saragih.

This time, Simbolon comes fully prepared. His opponent Victor Keitimu is the teammate of former welterweight champion Rudy Gunawan. Both fighters are known for their aggression and this fight has fight of the night written all over it.

Flyweight contenders

Opening the main card is a flyweight bout between Galih Tornado and Winardi. Galih is best known as the fighter who stopped title challenger Jeremia Siregar in 18 seconds by knockout.

The Jakarta-based fighter is looking forward to bounce back from his loss against Adi Rominto Manurung in Fight Night 28.

His opponent, WInardi, hails from a seasoned camp Lindu Aji. Winardi is known as an early finisher with 4 first round finishes in One Pride Arena, and he intends to add another first round finish against the Muay Thai stylist.

One Pride Pro Never Quit Fight Night 33 “Battle of the Pride” will broadcast LIVE on tvOne and tvOne Connect app this Saturday (26 October) from 22:00 WIB.
