MANILA, Philippines–The Philippines added three more dabs of luster to its kickboxing campaign in the Southeast Asian Games.
Jean Claude Saclag and Gina Iniong each delivered gold medals, while Karol Maguide a bronze in their respective matches Tuesday night at Cuneta Astrodome in Pasay
Saclag carved out a 3-0 decision over Malaysian foe Mahmoud Mohammed in the -63.5kg low kick, while Iniong bested Apichaya Mingkhwan, also 3-0, in the -55kg kick light to add to Jerry Olsim’s golden finish the night before.
Maguide, for his part, put on a spirited stand against Laos’ Phan Cheuangvanheuang, 2-1.
The other medalists were Jomar Balangui and Renalyn Dacquel, who saw action Monday.
The Filipinos, who were mentored by Team Lakay’s kingmaker Mark Sangiao, accounted for a total of three golds, two silvers, and a bronze.
