Training out of Sityodtong Amsterdam in Amsterdam, Netherlands, Regian “The Immortal” Eersel, 25, was crowned the new ONE Lightweight Kickboxing World Champion. He was one of the winners at “ONE: Enter the Dragon.”

Featuring 10 mixed martial arts matches and six ONE Super Series contests, which were six kickboxing bouts, “ONE: Enter the Dragon” was the Singapore-based martial arts organization’s second event in 2019 that took place in Singapore. In the co-main event of the evening, Holzken competed for the inaugural ONE Lightweight Kickboxing World Championship title against Nieky “The Natural” Holzken, 34, who is also fighting out of the Netherlands.

Elias Dolaptsis served as the referee. For the duration of the five-round bout, Eersel and Holzken put on an entertaining display of elite-level striking .

Eersel’s length and reach proved to be a factor. He was able to punish Holzken with jabs and knees in the latter part of the bout.

After five three-minute rounds, the title bout was left in the hands of the judges and in the end, the referee raised the hand of Eersel, who was declared the winner via unanimous decision.

Winning at “ONE: Enter the Dragon” improved the professional kickboxing record of Eersel to 54 wins and 4 losses. On the other hand, Holzken now has 92 wins, 15 losses, 1 No Contest.

It was Joseph Schooling who presented the belt to Eersel. In the post-fight interview in the cage with Mitch Chilson, the new ONE Lightweight Kickboxing World Champion promised to the crowd in Singapore that he would be back.
