Having shifted 4 million copies as of July 2019, Tekken 7 has subsequently managed to sell another one million in the five months since then, reaching a total of 5 million by the end of 2019. Game Director/Tekken Overlord Katsuhiro Harada confirmed the numbers via Twitter yesterday.

Since its console release in 2017, Tekken 7 has been treated to three Season Passes, with Zafira and Leroy Smith among the latest additions to the roster. Since being added to the character line-up, Leroy has upset fans for being far too overpowered, leading to EVO Japan 2020 being dominated by the new fighter. Unsurprisingly, a Leroy player won the Tekken 7 tourney during the event, and six other players used the character to reach the top 8.

Patch Ver. 3.21 will finally make much-needed and oft-requested balance adjustments to Leroy, ensuring he’s suitably nerfed. You can read the full patch notes here. But yeah. Tekken 7 selling 5 million copies. That’s good, isn’t it? A commemorative illustration to mark the milestone will be coming soon, Harada assured.

Tekken 7 launched for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC in June 2017, and is available to play now via Xbox Game Pass. Next up for Season Pass 3 holders will be the addition of Muay Thai warrior Fahkumram.
