TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) UPDATE: Hilary Nelson lives in a quiet neighborhood on the north side of Twin Falls.

“I got out of my car, reached back in to get my purse, and some man grabbed me and started attacking me punching me in the face multiple times,” said Nelson.

Nelson was able to reach in to grab her phone and call her husband who was inside. He came running out and the man ran away.

“It’s pretty terrifying to not feel safe when you get out of your car at home, you feel like that’s your safe zone, and I think we all let our guard down,”

The Twin Falls Police Department Sergeant Luke Allen said in a statement that they have a suspect and the incident is under investigation.

According to the victim, she believes that it was at the Oasis Stop and Go on the corner of Filer Ave and Washington Street where her assailant followed her home.

“I went to the gas station, went in, and then came home, and I think the guy that was in front of me, again I don’t know one hundred percent but I think the guy that was in front of me, followed me home,” said Nelson.

Master Brandon Low from Low’s Martial Arts teaches people how to protect themselves in a situation like this.

“Really, really it comes down to situational awareness, paying attention to your surroundings at all times. Often times people are so wrapped up to their lives and the things going on, that they aren’t paying attention to what’s going on around them,” said Low.

I want other woman to see, and I wanted other people to see, that they just they have to be careful, you have to be careful,” said Nelson.

A Twin Falls woman claims she is the victim of a vicious attack after driving home from a gas station.

Hilary Nelson posted photos on Facebook of her face, showing signs of physical violence.

She told KMVT she was driving home from The Oasis Stop ‘N Go at the corner of Filer and Washington on the evening of New Year’s Day, when was attacked in her driveway.
